The Killarney Races is one of the major sporting events held in Killarney each year. The racing festivals take place in May, July and August. The track is within walking distance of the town and is located at Ross Road. It has one of the most spectacular backdrops with the majestic McGillycuddy Reeks mountain range looming in the background. The town of Killarney is always buzzing with a party like atmosphere when the racing festival is on. There is an abundance of street entertainment and various events taking place through out the town for both children and adults. One of the biggest attractions at the festival is Ladies Day. This is the perfect opportunity for all the ladies to put on their glad rags for the event and try to win the coveted title of 'Best dressed lady'.
